Our Kids’ Mattress is not waterproof, however, the cover is water resistant and the entire mattress is washable from cover to core! The removable cover can go into the washing machine and the core can be washed in the bathtub or shower! The core comes in 3 sections to make washing only the soiled area even easier.

You can certainly use a mattress pad! We make a breathable, waterproof mattress pad that fits just like a fitted sheet and makes quick changes easy to manage when accidents happen.

Generally, parents will trade in their little one’s crib for a toddler or twin bed when the child is three years old or older, although there is no specific age at which you have to make the switch.

Some children transition earlier, like if they’ve outgrown their crib or toddler bed before age three, while others will transition later, especially if they’re more petite or their room is short on space.

It’s important to look at your child’s readiness before deciding when to introduce them to a big kid bed. Some kids look forward to this rite of passage, but for others, the transition is a bit scary. Follow your child’s lead.

A kid mattress is larger than a crib mattress, as it’s sized to fit a standard twin bed. It is also more comfort-driven and less firm than a crib mattress because there are not the same safety concerns with an older child.

Washing your Newton Kid & Toddler Mattress is easy. Just remove the cover and place it in the washing machine with a mild detergent. You could also hand wash it if you prefer.

Hang the cover to dry or pop it in the dryer on low heat. You can wash the mattress core in the shower. Be sure to let everything dry thoroughly before reassembling.
