Storage

Store wooden crib in a controlled indoor environment, protected from immoderate temperatures and humidity. Keep away from direct sunlight, air conditioners, radiators, heaters and humidifiers. Major changes in temperature and humidity may result in shrinkage or swelling of wood. Direct sunlight may affect the color over time.

Care & Cleaning

Wipe wood as needed with a lint-free microfiber cloth and a non-toxic cleaner. Wipe dry immediately. Avoid abrasive chemicals and materials to prevent scratches and other damage to the surface.

Assembly

Bassinet Mode (0–6 months)

  1. Lay long sides flat, short sides upright
  2. Attach corners using bolts and Allen wrench
  3. Add brackets at top setting to place mattress support
  4. Secure mattress support 
  5. (Optional) Attach locking wheels at base
  6. Wrap liner around top frame, secure with hook & loop
  7. Fasten liner to vertical slats
  8. Place pad with fitted sheet on support

Convert to Full Crib (6 months–3 years)

  1. Fully remove bassinet liner and mattress
  2. Remove wheels
  3. Disassemble short corner pieces
  4. Insert cam pins into long rails
  5. Press cam locks into corner pieces
  6. Align pins, tighten cam screws
  7. Add panels
  8. Choose height setting, add brackets
  9. Place mattress support on brackets
  10. Tighten all bolts securely
  11. Add your Newton Crib Mattress

Toddler Bed Mode (18 months–5 years)

  1. Set mattress to lowest position
  2. Remove front long side panel
  3. Confirm four bolts under mattress are secure

Junior Bed Mode (3–5 years)

  1. Keep mattress at lowest setting
  2. Remove back long side panel
  3. Confirm four bolts under mattress are secure

Top Newton Nest Convertible Crib Questions

While there’s no right time to move your baby from a crib to a toddler bed, they’re usually ready between 18 months and three and a half years. But it’s important to watch for signs your little one is ready instead of just relying on age.

If your child seems too big for the crib, you may want to move them. (A good indication: their chest is above the crib rail when they stand up.) Another clear sign is that they’re regularly climbing out of bed.

Lastly, when they verbalize that they want to be in a “big kid” bed, it may be time to make the change!

The Newton Nest 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is designed to fit your baby from the time they’re born until they’re five years old.

The bassinet mode accommodates infants up to approximately six months old, up to 20 lbs., or when baby shows signs of rolling over or pushing up on hands and knees, whichever comes first. It fits comfortably in your bedroom, and since it has wheels, it can easily move from room to room.

The crib mode includes three adjustable height positions and fits babies and toddlers up to three years old. Its low sides make it easier to get your baby in and out.

Removing one side panel turns the crib into a toddler bed, accommodating toddlers ages eighteen months to three years. When your child is between three and five years old, you can remove the second side panel to convert the Nest 4-in-1 Convertible Crib into a junior bed.

In its bassinet mode, the Nest 4-in-1 Convertible Crib accommodates a baby up to 20 pounds. In its crib, toddler bed, and junior bed modes, it can hold up to 50 pounds.

When the Nest 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is in bassinet mode, it has wheels and is easy to move wherever you need it. However, in the other modes, wheels aren’t an option and the bed is meant to be in a stationary setting.

The toddler bed weighs 46 pounds, and the junior bed weighs 41 pounds.

To wash the cover of a Newton mattress, unzip it and remove it from the core. Then zip it back up and put it in the washing machine on a cold cycle. Tumble dry on a cool setting.

If the Wovenaire® mattress core needs to be cleaned, place it in a bathtub or shower and wash with a mild soap. Shake it against a hard surface to remove most of the water, and then leave it out to air dry.
