When shopping for crib sheets, there are a few things to consider:

Fit — Loose sheets can easily come off the corners of the mattress and endanger your little one while they sleep. Make sure the crib sheet you choose fits snugly on all four corners and doesn’t come loose when your baby moves.

Care — You’ve got enough to do, so look for sheets that are easy to take care of and can be thrown into the washing machine with the rest of your baby’s clothes.

Breathability — This serves two important purposes: to keep your baby safe (in case they turn over while they sleep) and to help them avoid overheating.

Durability — Look for durable sheets that can withstand many washes without losing their structure.

Standard crib sheets measure 52" x 28" and fit a crib mattress up to 8" thick. We designed our Newton crib sheets to fit securely over the Newton Essential, Original, and Waterproof Crib Mattresses, but they also fit securely on other mattresses of similar dimensions. For smaller cribs, try our mini version, which fits 24" x 38" mattresses, like Newton's Mini Crib Mattress.

You’ll only need one fitted crib sheet at a time — and nothing else in the crib until they’re older — but it’s a good idea to have extras on hand in case your baby has an accident, like a diaper blowout or throw-up from an upset stomach.

Since these accidents can happen at any time (and often more than once in a single night), it’s best to be prepared.
